For sure need to read a book to find out for myself what you stated above - thank you very much by the way, I see the point in what you were saying. And I agree that declarations like that are silly:) but you know, they work - I believe in what we think, dream, and then say we want to do will happen little by little. It is for sure silly to post a comment here and say I will run that race or another one, but then I personally feel accountable and I am doing my 1 percent steps to go closer to that wish - though obviously nobody checks on me (I hope).

And what amazes me is that the approach to put a system in place rather than goals works beyond running as well. I personally feel my mind is then more relaxed if there is no daunting goal inside it. It truly is about enjoying every moment of life instead of just few very short moments in it.

This is how I started exercising 25 years ago. I started doing 3 modified pushups, 10 jumping jacks, 10 crunches , and running in place for one minute. I did this 3 times a week and the following week I added one more rep to each and only a few seconds more to running in place. As time went by, I added different types of strength training and exchanged running in place for other types of aerobics. And this is also how I started training for half marathon. If I did 5 miles last week, then adding half a mile more this week didn’t seem too hard, and before I knew it, I could do 12. It just sneaks in there!
