Couldn’t run yesterday so got up early today to run 6 miles with my wife. Set a slow pace due to heat and humidity but enjoyed our run together.

Happy Sunday running! I liked the run-through of the in-person race and it was pretty spot-on with the in-person race my friends and I participated in a couple weeks ago. We also had the bands that were given to us to as proof that we passed the temperature check but I really liked the color choice...we didn’t have that. I wonder if people would really pay attention to that in the midst of the pre-race high. Ours was also a staggered start with a participation cap. Masks were “required” before and after the race but honestly I noticed about half of the people sitting and walking around wore them.

As far as cancellations, more of the Mainly Marathon series were cancelled. Luckily the Appalachian series that I put in vacation for is still running (pun intended). Again I’m not counting on it pulling through but am hopeful. Also I’ve cancelled my trip to Oregon for my self-planned Prefontaine Tour. Last I checked, NikeTown, Nike Headquarters, and the Coos Bay Museum were all closed. *sigh* I also wanted to visit the Bill Bowerman statue at Pre’s old college and I’m unsure what access will be like. On another note, I did get the paperwork to have my foot x-rayed. I’m pretty certain I’ve had some stress fractures since late last year but I’m stubborn and keep pounding the pavement insisting that running therapy cures all, even a broken foot. Common sense tells me I should use this “can’t run races” time heal if it’s confirmed.

I got up early intending on running but got lazy so I’ll do it tomorrow, promise. And side note, lucky you for the U2 concerts!!! That’s a bucket list item of mine. One day....
